Meet Our Veterinary Team

At Shoreline Veterinary Hospital, we believe that exceptional care starts with exceptional people. Our doctors bring years of training, hands-on experience, and genuine compassion to every patient they treat. Whether it’s a first puppy exam, surgery, or senior pet care, our team is dedicated to supporting pets and their families with skill and kindness.

Committed to Pets and Their Families

Our veterinarians are not only highly trained medical professionals, but they are also lifelong animal lovers who treat every pet as if they were their own. By combining medical expertise with a personal approach, they help families in Shoreline and the Greater Seattle Area make informed decisions about their pets’ health and well-being.

Dr. Sharon Peery, Veterinarian & Medical Director

From a very young age, Dr. Sharon Peery knew she wanted to help animals. Her time at the Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital showed her that veterinary medicine is not only about treating pets — it is also about supporting families and guiding them toward the best treatment plans for their unique situations. While diagnosing and treating medical issues is an important part of her work, she believes just as strongly in preventative care and educating owners so their pets can enjoy the best possible quality of life. She values being part of every stage of a pet’s journey — from their early days, through adulthood and senior years, and eventually through the peaceful goodbyes that each family faces in their own way.

Dr. Peery moved to Washington in 2012 and has made the Puget Sound area her home. Despite the long, gray winters, she loves the beauty of the region and enjoys life here with her husband, Chris, their children, Anastasia and Zachery, and their furry family members. Together, they enjoy exploring all that Washington has to offer — from hiking and camping to taking advantage of the many events and activities throughout Seattle.

Dr. Sandra Durst, Veterinarian

Dr. Sandra Durst has been practicing veterinary medicine for more than 23 years after earning her degree from the University of Illinois. Throughout her career, she has learned that the most meaningful part of her work comes from taking the time to make each patient feel loved, valued, and important. To her, veterinary care is about more than medicine — it’s about creating trust and comfort for pets and the families who care for them.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Durst is a proud mom of two wonderful children, ages 14 and 11. She loves spending time outdoors, whether she’s hiking with Niña, watching frogs, or paddle-boarding with her sister. She also enjoys building poultry houses for her ducks, turkeys, and hens. These passions keep her grounded and deeply connected to the animals she cares for both personally and professionally.

Dr. Rueb

Dr. Rueb, Veterinarian

Veterinary medicine has been a passion for Dr. Rueb since he was just beginning to walk, and the furry friends he grew up with have shaped his life in profound ways. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2024, spending time in the Caribbean as well as completing his clinical year at Kansas State University. After a year of practicing in Rhode Island, he is thrilled to be back home in the Pacific Northwest to begin the next chapter of his career.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Rueb enjoys baking, bowling, hiking, playing video games, and adventuring through Dungeons & Dragons campaigns with his close friends. He looks forward to the experiences, challenges, and new furry companions that Washington has in store for him.
